Obituary: Earl M. Anders - 99, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Elroy, PA went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Souderton Mennonite Homes. He was the husband of the late Mary B. (Nyce) Anders. Born in Harleysville, PA to the late Menno and Lizzie (Moyer) Anders. Earl was a dairy farmer for over 40 years in Elroy, PA. After retiring in 1972, he was employed and later volunteered at Souderton Mennonite Homes in the laundry and mail department, until August. Earl volunteered much of his time at the Souderton Mennonite Home, Spruce Lake Retreat and the Franconia Mennonite Church. He enjoyed board / table games, shuffleboard, genealogy and local history, traveling to Florida / Iowa with his late wife & spending time with his family and friends. Earl was a member of Franconia Mennonite Church where he served as a former Sunday School teacher, superintendent and trustee. He was survived by: Betty Kratz (Daughter) & husband, Robert of Souderton, PA; Donald Anders (Son) & wife, Catherine of Telford, PA; Earl Anders (Son) & wife, Elaine of Sutton, AK; Aldine "Deanie" Frankenfield (Daughter) & husband, Dale of Elroy, PA; Rebecca Derstine (Daughter) & husband, G. Dale of Elroy, PA; Betty Hackman (Sister) & husband, Harrison of Souderton, PA; Lewis Anders (Brother) of Kulpsville, PA; 12 grandchildren - Eric, Phillip, David, Cathy, Connie, Blaine, Steve, Neil, Jill, Andrew, Sheldon, Conrad; 25 Great-Grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Barry Anders; two sisters, Alma Nyce & Sallie Landes; three brothers, Marvin, Willis "Bill" & Linneaus Anders. Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Souderton Mennonite Summit View Auditorium, Souderton, PA. Burial was at Franconia Mennonite Cemetery. |
