Obituary: Minnie N. (Nyce) Kratz, 89, of Souderton, died Monday, July 30, 2007 at Rockhill Mennonite Community. She was the wife of the late Abram L. Kratz. Born in Elroy, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Mabel (Moyer) Nyce. Minnie enjoyed crocheting and music. She was a former teacher's aide for Penn View Christian School. She was a life member of Franconia Mennonite Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and taught summer Bible school for local mission churches. She is survived by two sons, Curtis Kratz and his wife, Eva, of Souderton and Abram Kratz and his wife, Mary Anne, of Hatfield; a daughter, Esther Kolb and her husband, Jonathan, of Spring City; a foster son, David Derstine of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Harvey Nyce and his wife, Grace, of Souderton; a sister, Naomi Roth of Lansdale; 17 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Kratz. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 2 at 2 PM at Souderton Mennonite Summit View Auditorium, 207 W. Summit St., Souderton, where friends may meet with the family from 12:30 to 2 PM. Burial will take place at Franconia Mennonite Cemetery in Franconia.
