Obituary: Chester R. Cassel, 91, of the Souderton Mennonite Homes, died June 10, 2002 in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill. He was the husband of Naomi (Hendricks) Cassel. The couple would have observed 70 years of marriage Nov. 1. The Cassels lived on Ridge Road in Salford Twp. for 36 years, before moving to Hidden Springs in Franconia Twp. in 1989. They entered the Souderton Mennonite Homes in December, 1999. Born in Line Lexington, he was a son of the late Jesse Owen and Rosa (Ruth) Cassel. As a younger man, Mr. Cassel worked for the former Schoenman¹s Coat Factory and at several local poultry farms. He retired from the Estate of George S. Snyder in Hatfield in 1975. Mr. Cassel was a member of Finland Mennonite Church since 1934. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 15 at 2 P.M. in Line Lexington Mennonite Church; interment in adjoining cemetery. |
