Obituary: Paul A. Godshall - 98, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Harleysville, PA died on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Souderton Mennonite Homes. He was the loving husband of the late Stella B. Godshall for 72 years. Paul was born in Harleysville, PA to the late Enos D. & Catherine (Allebach) Godshall. He was self-employed farmer for 58 years. Paul was a board member of the Hope Christian Center in New York, NY and a founding board member of Christopher Dock High School and Penn View Christian School. He was a choir member of Life with God radio program. Paul volunteered his time recycling at the Souderton Mennonite Homes. He loved singing and traveling to see his family in Vermont, Puerto Rico and Africa. Paul was a generous supporter of missions, the church and Christian education. He was a member of Franconia Mennonite Church where he served as a former song leader for 44 years. Paul was survived by his two daughters, Miriam M. Godshall of Aibonito, PR, Lourene Bender & husband, Nevin of Harrisonburg, VA; his two sons, Dr. Stanley Godshall & wife, Susan of Mount Joy, PA, Philip Godshall & wife, Donna of Martinsburg, PA; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and his brother-in-law, Abram Ehst of Souderton, PA. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Abram & Clayton Godshall and his four sisters, Edna Landis, Mary Myers, Catherine Meyers and Ella Mae Detweiler and three infant sons. Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Souderton Mennonite Homes. Burial was at Franconia Mennonite Cemetery. |
