Notes Obituary:
John E. Bergstresser, 91, of Souderton, entered into rest Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Souderton Mennonite Homes. He was the loving husband of 70 years to Ruth (Nyce) Bergstresser. Born in Souderton, he was a son of the late Howard and Amelia (Leber) Bergstresser.

John graduated from Souderton High School, class of 1937. He was employed as a manager for Martin Century Farms in Lansdale for many years. Later, John became the VP of Sales for Lehigh Valley. During these times, he was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Milk Dealers. After retirement, John was employed as a consultant in pricing and sales for Rosenbergers Dairy.

He was a life member of Zion Mennonite Church of Souderton, where he served on the church board, sang in the choir and for a few years as treasurer. John was a lifetime member of Kiwanis Club of Souderton. In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing with a variety of local orchestras where he played the saxophone, violin, accordion and the clarinet. He and Ruth had a summer cottage in Canada where they loved to spend their summers. John loved music and in his spare time he enjoyed playing golf and watching baseball.

In addition to his wife, Ruth, he is survived by a daughter, Linda Moyer and husband, Clyde of Telford; two sons, Phil Bergstresser and wife, Betty of Telford and Dean Bergstresser and wife, Denise, of Golden Lake, Ontario; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Cummings.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 7PM at Zion Mennonite Church, 149 Cherry Lane, Souderton, where friends may meet with the family from 6 to 7PM. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
