Description |
Carolina Lily Quilt comprised of twenty-five complete blocks set on point. Each block averages 13.00" x 13.00" and consists of a ground of white cotton with a black dot print with a lily motif made out of plain red cotton and a black cotton with a green and white floral print. The lily motifs are arranged in a mirror layout, with the right and left sides are set on the side, while the central blocks are set vertically. The complete blocks are surrounded by twelve half blocks and four quarter blocks consisting of one large tulip head and four rows of individual squares set on point, made out of plain white cotton, the printed blue cotton, the printed red cotton and the printed yellow cotton. Separating each blocks is a 2.00" wide sashing made out of a double blue floral printed cotton with cornerstones made out of yellow cotton with black dash print. There is a 3/8" wide applied binding made out of plain red cotton. The quilt is handstitched in green (faded), red and white thread with a SPI of 5-7. The back is comprised of seven vertically pieced stripes. The stripes are made out of a light brown cotton with a purple, red and green floral print and a blue and white large striped cotton with a pink and blue floral print and white floral print. |
