Description |
"Orange Peel" quilt comprised of an 11 x 10 block formation. Each block averages 6.50" x 6.75" and consists of either a ground made of green cotton with very faded print with an applied white cotton with red printed petal, or the same printed white cotton ground with an applied petal made out of the same printed green cotton. Four blocks make the Orange Peel pattern. The surrounding border is 1.50" wide and consists of a sawtooth pattern made out of the printed white cotton and a double red printed cotton. The outer border alters in width, the top, right and bottom sides are all 7.50" wide, while the left side is 3.25" wide, but are all made of the same green cotton with a blue and yellow print and diamond cross-hatching. There is a 1/2" wide applied binding made of teal cotton with a blue, yellow and white floral print and reinforced with white machine stitching, and along the bottom there is evidence of another binding underneath made out of the same double red printed cotton. The quilt is handstitched with white thread and a SPI of 6-9. The back is comprised of a white cotton with an orange and red blossom print. |
