Description A manufactured bureau scarf made out of a bleached damask woven linen. At either end there is woven red cotton borders of a stylized floral and geometric design with 3.00" long knotted self-fringe. There is cream cotton patch job above one of the borders. The right and left edges have been left unfinished.
Provenance There is no information about the owner or maker of this piece, except that it comes out of the family of Harrison B. (1849-1927) and Sarah S. (Landis) Shelly (1856-1900). They were members of the East Swamp Mennonite Church. The scarf was eventually passed down to their granddaughter, the donor.
