Description A doll's quilt comprised of a plain white cotton ground with appliquéd stars. There is a centered eight-point star made out of diamond patches using two printed cottons; the first has a white ground with a blue, peach and yellow floral print, and the second has a pink ground with red, blue and green floral print. In each corner there is a smaller five-point star made only out of the printed pink cotton. There is a 1.00" wide machine stitched applied binding made out of plain pink cotton. The appliqué is all hand done with white thread. There is no backing to the quilt.
Provenance Made by Emma L. (Hunsberger) Gross (1864-1944), wife of Samuel W. Gross (1854-1938). They resided in Bedminster Township, Bucks County. The quilt was made around 1942 as a Christmas gift for her grand niece, the donor.
