Description A handspun bed sheet made out of bleached plain weave linen. The sheet is comprised of two panels handstitched together, with each panel measuring 38.50" wide. At the lower left corner are the cross-stitched initials "R.H." in brown cotton. The top and bottom edge have a 1/8" wide foldover hem while the right and left edge have been left unfinished.
Provenance The initials pertain to the maker but there is no additional information about the maker or owner of this piece. The sheet comes out of the family of Abraham C. (1847-1921) and Mary H. (Allebach) Cassel (1844-1921), of Montgomery County. It is believed the sheet probably originated out of Montgomery County.
