Description |
Grandmother's Quilt comprised of ninety-four complete hexagons. Each hexagon averages 7.50" x 7.50" and consists of nineteen smaller 1.75" x 1.75" hexagons made of a printed cotton outer border, a plain cotton inner border and a consistent plain orange cotton center. At the top and bottom there are ten incomplete hexagons made out of only seven smaller hexagons. Separating each large hexagon is a plain pink sashing made out of individual hexagons. The surrounding border is jagged on the right and left side, emphasizing the line of the complete hexagons, while the top and left border is scalloped, emphasising the individual hexagon and both are made of a plain cornflower blue cotton 2.00" x 2.00" hexagons. The binding appears to be butted and reinforced with pink silk thread in a buttonhole stitch. The back is comprised of the same cornflower blue cotton. |
