Description |
Indian Creek Brethren communion wine demijohn |
Notes |
DVD transcription: 2.00:25 Basket-weave-covered demijohn --held the communion wine for the Indian Creek congregation --It was in the possession of the deacon until 1917, when by a decision at Counsel Meeting, the congregation moved from the use of fermented wine to using unfermented grape juice for communion. Clarence sees this as unfortunate. The last person to make the communion wine at Indian Creek was Ellie Nyce of Vernfield, daughter[-in-law] of Abe Nyce. Clarence notes that he has a picture of her in his photo collection. This demijohn held the wine that Ellie made. --Clarence bought this bottle at Alma Nyce's sale. |
