TRANSLATION: The noble shepherd, God's Son, beloved from eternity, left his kingdom, hid the crown and went about grieved; he went and sought, through loving and suffering, with anxious supplication[?], his poor lost sheep who strayed on earth. Man, tell me what is your life? A flower and dry leaves, the branches of which quickly fall off and are laid in the dust. O son of man, think on this, because we are all mortal. Wing, wing, wing away, to soar where with God the angelic host sings "Holy, Holy". How I long to go; so I'll call more and more: wing, wing, wing away. |
