Obituary: Elizabeth 'Betty' (Chittick) Moyer of Lansdale, Pa., formerly of Doylestown, Pa., went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at Dock Woods. She was 94. She was the loving wife of W. Paul Moyer for 71 years. Betty was born in Gardenville, Pa. to the late Edward and Bertha (Myers) Chittick. She graduated from Central Bucks High School, class of 1937, and Lansdale School of Business. Betty was employed by the American Red Cross and Musselman's in Doylestown. She was a bookkeeper for the family businesses for over 50 years. Betty participated with her husband in the early development and operation of Spruce Lake Retreat under the Franconia Mennonite Camping Association for many years. She was an avid reader who enjoyed camping with her family, quilting, gardening and Bible study groups. Betty enjoyed vacationing in Sarasota, Fla. She was a life member of Doylestown Mennonite Church where she served as a former Sunday school teacher and was part of the ladies sewing circle. In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by her two sons, J. Phillip Moyer and wife, Betsy, of Green Lane, Pa., James A. Moyer and wife, Pamela, of Doylestown, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Sarah Chittick of Doylestown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Ross; a brother, John Chittick; and an infant sister. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Doylestown Mennonite Church, 590 N. Broad St., Doylestown, Pa. 18901 where friends may meet with the family from 10 am to 11 a.m. Burial will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
