Paul W. & Minnie Good Brunk's farming records |
Scope & Content |
Financial records (ledgers/account books) from the farm of the late Paul W. & Minnie Good Brunk and daughter Beulah M. Brunk (1924-2016), of Royersford Road, Royersford, PA, 1921-2014 (seven volumes). They were members of Vincent Mennonite Church for many years, and later joined the Royersford Mennonite Church (conservative). Paul W. Brunk (1897-1982), originally from Elida, Ohio, moved east to Chester County, PA, and in 1921 married Minnie W. Good (1901-1993) of East Vincent Township, Chester County, and a member of the Vincent Mennonite congregation. They started housekeeping and farming in East Vincent Township in 1921 (when these begin). A few years later, they bought a farm on Royersford Road in Limerick Township, Montgomery County, where they lived and farmed the remainder of their lives. After Minnie Brunk died in 1993, her unmarried daughter Beulah Brunk, who lived on the farm with her parents, continued the record keeping until 2014, when she moved to Souderton Mennonite Homes. After Beulah died in 2016, the farm account books were then in the possession of her unmarried brother Elmer J. Brunk, who continued to live in the Brunk farmhouse until he died in April 2022. |
