Description |
A ladies skirt made out of a printed burgundy and woven golden stripe cotton. There is a self-fabric waistband attached, and at the attachment of the skirt there is cartridge pleating. The skirt is gored and there is a pocket on the proper right side. There is a single button closure at the back waist. The skirt is mainly machine constructed with some hand finishing details. The skirt was worn with a matching bodice, see object 1986.53.7. |

Probably worn by Elizabeth Y. (George) Moyer (1839-1903), wife of Joseph H. Moyer (1840-1986). They were members of the Blooming Glen Mennonite Church. The skirt was passed down to her granddaughter, the donor. |
