Description |
Miniature (toy) slant-top desk, circa 1830, in relatively good, original condition. Has original grain-painted finish - original paint colors appear to have been a deep red, yellow, and light-brown, and perhaps a shade of orange. Desk has three lower drawers with brass pulls, two slide-out supports for the desk lid, and two small drawers inside the lid. Made of poplar and pine. |

Toy slant-top desk (in original condition), circa 1830, from the family of Jacob N. Schueck (1854-1935) and Leanna Freed Schueck of Franconia Township, Montgomery County. It was passed down in the Schueck-Clemmer- Gaugler family to their granddaughter, Rhoda Clemmer Gaugler. |
