Starting from the waist down, the coat is left open with slight rounded flaps. At the back there is a box pleat with two buttons flanking the single vent. There is a hidden pocket in the fold of the box pleat of the right flap. The coat is lined in green (probably was black but has oxidized) silk with machine quilting along the upper half of the coat.
