Description |
Hide and leather covered wooden document box (chest) with hinged lid and brass handle. Has a metal lock (key is missing). Box is lined with newspaper dated 1834 and 1864. The hide cover is probably hog; some of the hair survives. Trimmed with strips of leather and brass studs. Inside the box are some papers and photos from the family of John W. & Mary Schantz Longacre of near Rich Hill, Bucks County. |
