Description |
A double sided quilted youth's comforter made out of two panels of mauve cotton sateen. There is a centered design comprised of a stylized leaf shape framed by swirls and a left design in each corner. The center is surrounded by squares creating through quilt stitching. There is an additional stitched border comprised of a scalloped design with a quilted stitched scroll pattern in each corner. There is a butted binding along the edge and the quilted is all handstitched w in mauve thread with a SPI of 5-8. |

There is no information about the maker of this piece but it was used by Dorothy L. (Grant) McGann (1927-present), as a young girl. She was the daughter of Allen L. (1889-1965) and Katie Mae S. (Longacre) Grant (1894-1987), of Richland Township, Bucks County. As an adult, Dorothy would go on to marry John A. McGann (1933-present). |
