Description |
A ladies handstitched dress made out of a cream silk crepe with a low neckline and a modesty self-fabric panel is attached with snaps on the proper right side. The edges are all trimmed with a self-fabric binding that appears like piping. There is an asymmetrical flap going from he right shoulder down to the left where it the panels snaps at the waist. On both sides, at the dropped waistline there is smocking of the fabric. The sleeves are short and set into the arm syce. |

Worn by Mary S. Longacre (1891-1960), at her June 29, 1925 wedding to Herman Charles Grim (1880-1963). The dress was made by her sister, Katie S. (Longacre) Grant (1894-1987), wife of Allen L. Grant (1889-1965). They all resided in Richland Township, Bucks County. |
