Provenance |
Made by Elizabeth "Lizzie" K. Wismer (1862-1941), of Bedminster Township, Bucks County. The family story is that she made this quilt for her dowry, in anticipation of her marriage. But her fiancé died before the wedding. She never did marry. The quilt was then stored away until it was eventually given to her nephew, Harvey M. Wismer (1873-1958). |
