Small doll quilt made of stripes and bars, with the monogram M in a square in the middle. The fabric is now very faded, with much of the color washed out. |
Provenance |
Part of little Marie A. Ziegler's doll bed set, circa 1906-08. All the bedding was made by her grandmother Sarah Harley Alderfer (1836-1927), of Lower Salford Township, Montgomery County, and a member of Indian Creek Church of the Brethren. Marie (1900-1995) was the daughter of J. Horace and Lydia H. Alderfer Ziegler of Lower Salford, and later married William W. Canning. Th doll bed set was later given to Marie's granddaughter Karin Koons Stocking (the donor). |
