Notes |
Housed in box 67. DVD transcriptions: 8.01:05 Small roll-top box of childhood mementos --a red car --a "fish in a fishbowl" --a "Lone Ranger ring" with a tiny pistol on it. Clarence notes that originally the cap of the pistol would spark when you ran your finger over it. --several other rings --a compass --"The Green Hornet"-something from a radio program. Clarence states that he had "every toy [he] ever had," until the burglars of a while back took most of his toys. --a horseshoe with a copper penny in it 8.02:55 Water ring gag --According to Clarence, this was a "really important item" in Kulp's Store, when he was a boy. One would fill the rubber egg with water, and then put the ring on their finger, and as they showed their "new ring" to someone, they would squeeze the water out into the person's face. Clarence laughingly remembers that this thing was "the source of all kinds of jollification." 15.39:45 Eyeglasses in case --Clarence notes that the case is marked M. K. Laudenschlager, Jeweler and Optician, Souderton. --These glasses belonged to Clarence's father when he was a young man.. 16.54:30 Small photo in pink frame --Clarence states that he doesn't know who this girl is. 18.04:35 Clarence's pencil box from schooldays --Clarence remembers that everyone carried such pencil boxes to school. John remembers that "half the fun was getting it before you went, and thinking about it-not using it." --Clarence points out that the box contains an antique mechanical pencil. |
