Description |
A ladies machine made jacket, similar to a Reefer style comprised of black worsted wool. The jacket has a notcheded lapel with black velvet used to trim the back of the collar. The jacket is double breasted with six intact buttons made of shell. There are applied self-fabric strips attached to the front and back that highlight the tailoring of the jacket. At the bust and waistline there is another application of the self-fabric strips but they are decorative. The application at the waist is pointed and surrounds a slit pocket. The jacket also has a peplum hem but the back is much shorter. The long sleeves are set into the arm syce with some gathering and volume at the shoulders. The cuffs also feature an application of the self-fabric trim. The jacket is lined in black silk satin. The sleeves are structured around a stiff gauze material which has been inserted in between the lining and the wool. |
