Description |
A child's underskirt comprised of a 4.750" wide white cotton waistband with no closures. The waistband is attached to a cream cotton flannel skirt, with cartridge pleating along the seam. Along the hem there is an attached 1.50" long cream wool crochet scalloped trim. |
Provenance |
There is no information about the maker or origin of this piece, except that it comes out of the family of Harrison B. (1849-1927) and Sarah S. (Landis) Shelly (1856-1900), of Quakertown, Bucks County. They were members of the East Swamp Mennonite congregation. The underskirt was passed down to their granddaughter, the donor. |
