Description |
A ladies bonnet constructed out of a wire frame and covered in a black novelty weave silk. The style of the hat is made to look like one piece, and his heavily rouched and twisted, giving it an almost turban appearance. Attached to the inside are two black silk ribbon ties averaging 24.00" long. The hat is lined in a black rayon sateen. |

Probably worn by the donor's maternal grandmother, Mary B. (Schantz) Longacre (1852-1931), wife of John W. Longacre (1848-1922). They lived in Richland Township, Bucks County and were members of the East Swamp Mennonite Church. |
