Description |
Amish inspired quilt comprised of a 4 x 5 block formation. Each block averages 7.00" x 7.00" and is made of plain black cotton ground with diagonal quilt stitching and six applied strips in the corners made of any of either plain white, purple, yellow, pink, light blue, teal and burgandy cotton. The surrounding border is 1.00" wide and made of the plain teal cotton. The outer border is 2.25" wide and made of plain black cotton with a vertical quilt stitch line down the middle with a 3/8" wide foldover binding from back to front. The quilt is handstitched with black thread and a SPI of 7. The back is comprised of plain black cotton, and located in the bottom proper left corner is the embroidered inscription "R.K. 1988" in white silk. A self-fabric sleeve has been attached by the maker. See object 1988.63.6 for the matching pillowcase. |
