Description

Sunbonnet of blue and white fine checked gingham. The brim is stitched in rows of stitching 0.25" apart. A 1.25" ruffle trims the brim which measures 5.5" in width. The back of the bonnet is attached to hte brim with a 1.25" ruffle. Two ties 20" long and 2.25" wide form a bow in the back. 11.75" ties 1.75" wide fasten under the chin. A 6" skirt is attached. Four tiny holes.

Provenance

Belonged to the family of Harrison B. Shelly and Sarah S. Landis Shelly of East Swamp Mennonite Church, Quakertown, Bucks County, Pa. They were the grandparents of the donor.
