A ladies hat structured out using buckram for the crown and wire for the brim. The hat is mainly made out of a looped cream and brown mohair pile. There is an asymmetrical panel of brown velvet applied to the left side of the crown, and the velvet is folded and used for the 1.250" wide turned up brim. On the proper left side there is a large bow made out of multiple loops of yellow silk satin ribbon, which has been applied to the front and part of the top of the crown. Silk covered wire strands with metal beading and paillettes has also been attached to the left side. There is also a high flounce on the proper right side, made out of rouched brown velvet, with the yellow ribbon intertwined with the folded velvet. There is also a large grey and white feature plume attached to the front of the crown, and a semi stuffed bird with beak and glass eyes. The crown is lined in brown glazed cotton with a drawstring inserted. |
