Small, thick photograph album, circa 1865-1885, with embossed brown cover with white porcelain studs (front and back). Full of small photo cards and a few tintypes - some are identified. Has brass clasp; one is missing. |

Small photo portrait album, late 19th century, from the family of miller John K. Shutt (1830-1919) and Elizabeth Kratz Shutt (1835-1926), who lived along the Indian Creek in Lower Salford Township, Montgomery County. They were members of the Salford Mennonite congregation. Some photos are identified - includes portraits of Elizabeth's parents, Isaac and Anna Alderfer Kratz of Lower Salford Township. The album was passed down to John and Elizabeth Shutt's granddaughter, Florence Koon Insley, of Norristown, PA - it was purchased at her household auction in 1979. |
